Southwestern Salsas, Toppings, and Quick Nachos

With Super Bowl Weekend ahead, here are some fun salsas/toppipngs that can pair up with just about anything you’re serving. Whatever meal I’m making inspired by the flavors of Mexico and Central America, these salsas and toppings almost always find their way onto the table. They just amp up the spectrum of flavor and bring that cilantro-lime-perfection home.

A party favorite is always a giant tray of nachos. Add your favorite protein, jar of beans, and cheese to a pan-full of chips (preferably the “hint of lime” tortilla chips), then bake in the oven at 400F until the cheese is toasted and melty. My go-to protein for nachos is a pork tenderloin slow cooked in a jar of salsa with a sprinkle of salt. Top with all of these toppings and you have a crowd-pleaser.

Pico De Gallo

Pink Pickled Onions

Green Sauce

Quick Nachos:

Pour a whole bag of tortilla chips on a cookie sheet, top with protein, beans, and cheese and bake at 400F until everything is hot, melty and toasted. Top with all the above toppings and FRESH cilantro.

Protein (Slow cooked pork tenderloin with a jar of salsa and some salt)

Beans (Black, Pinto, White)

Shredded Cheese

Tortilla Chips

All these Toppings

Happy Super Bowl weekend! Yum.
